BIDC EBID: Vice – president (Operations)
ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) is a leading international finance institution owned by the fifteen (15) ECOWAS Member States and located in Lomé, Togolese Republic. The Bank is committed to the promotion of the private sector and development of the public sector through its financing of ECOWAS and NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa’s Development) projects and programs relating to transport, energy, telecommunications, infrastructure, environment, natural resources, etc.
EBID is looking for a suitably qualified, goal-oriented and results- driven person with a proven track record and exceptional qualities for appointment to the position of:
OBJECT OF THE POSITION
To assist the President of the Bank to provide overall leadership, strategic direction and Management of the Bank.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the President of the Bank, the Vice- president (Operations) will supervise and/or
coordinate the activities of the operational Departments and also the Department of Research and Strategic Planning.
Specific duties include assisting the President to:
• run the day-to-day administration of the Bank;
• propose to the Board of Directors the strategic direction of the Bank;
• identify, develop and direct the implementation of the business strategy ensuring that the Bank is run on good commercial and professional principles;
• plan, direct and/or coordinate the Bank’s operational activities (private/public sector) to achieve agreed targets and standards;
• develop, evaluate and maintain operational effectiveness and efficiencies through a performance and merit culture;
• develop and maintain a culture that will foster co-operation, commitment, efficiency, accountability and productivity within the organization;
• supervise the preparation and submission of the relevant reports on the operations of the Bank;
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• At least a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Project Management, Marketing, Engineering or any relevant field from a recognized University with not less than fifteen (15) years post qualification relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in a senior management position. A professional qualification would be an added advantage;
• highly experienced in the management of projects financing particularly in the private / public sector in an international environment;
• highly competent in the field of bank management and administration.

DURATION OF CONTRACT
The position shall be governed by a four (04) year contract, renewable once.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Candidates must be:
• Nationals of ECOWAS Member States;
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc…);
• Proficient in one of the ECOWAS working languages (English, French and Portuguese). Knowledge of one or the other two working languages will be an added advantage.
