IC Events is currently looking for a Sales Executive in our London office.  IC Events is a branch of IC Publications a UK-based Africa leading Publisher, providing essential African business information to senior executives in Africa and around the world. As a dynamic and expanding Africa-oriented events branch, IC Events, operates in various sectors, in particular: finance, real estate, infrastructure, oil and gas.

The Position
As a Delegate & Sponsorships Sales Executive, you will be selling to VP, CEO, MD and director level clients (existing and new) in some of the worlds leading and most respected corporations, organizations and institutions. You will play a key role in the success of IC Events. You will work within a dedicated team and be managed and mentored by our Senior Conference Manager. On a daily basis you will be proactively selling our leading edge product portfolio to existing and potential IC Events customers over the telephone. Our standards are exceptionally high, and from the moment you join the business, we expect you to excel.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Follow up outbound leads and enquiries and convert to sales
  • Contact individuals from researched and prospect lists and convert to sales
  • Research new contacts and sales leads from the database and from raw research of your own, and convert to sales
  • Build, operate and maintain a sales database to maximise the effectiveness of this resource
  • Continually achieve KPI’s of 60-80 calls a day/2.5 hours talk time
  • Generating new business and increasing revenue from existing and new clients
  • Working closely with Production and Marketing functions to deliver profitable events
  • Lead sourcing/generating new business leads
  • Achieving and exceeding sales target
  • Accurately forecasting and reporting activities and results to the Senior Conference Manager on a weekly basis
  • Keeping your sales records with accurate and updated client calls’ notes on a daily.

Requirements/Skills / Characteristics

The ideal candidate will have:

  •  a background in B2B sales (minimum two years) Real Estate and Finance an advantageous;
  •  a proven and strong record of sales success.
  • an excellent work ethics
  • a track record of doing business at senior director level.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to coop with a fast pace environment
  •  Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and Google
  • Good knowledge of CRM software, ACT
  • Ambitious, tenacious, driven and committed, open to learn the company business model, articulate, passionate, hungry for success and genuine interest in the business issues in which you will be involved are all part and parcel of this important role.
